You always read articles of entrepreneurs, and the sacrifices that they make and the long hours of work they put in and the blood, sweat and tears stuff they do... You also hear about the understanding girlfriend / partner who has been their by their side (in some cases) and saw them through thick and thin and who was supportive and helped them and brought them up when they were down. We always read about how the entrepreneur's life is so hard and difficult ....

Why don't we ever read about the partner's side of things? Well, I thought it's about time someone spoke about that side of the story....
I'm the wife of an entrepreneur. While that might sound fancy and all that shit, trust me - it is NOT. All the sacrifices that they make? Well, obviously we also need to share those sacrifices.
Now don't get me wrong and call me a selfish person. Of course I am supportive and I do understand the sacrifices that he has made (needs to make) and the ones that we both will need to make; but to be entirely honest - it's not easy .... My husband quoted the above article and told me that he was feeling the exact same things written there... I had read that article (I usually read stuff related to entrepreneurship and things like that) and when he asked me to read it again - especially some part of it I was in no mood to humour him and told him that I'd read it. Well, that didn't go too well with him and he was like if I had read it I would not ask him to do some things that I ask him to do ....
It's like .... It is not fair ... I understand that I should be supportive and be by his side and that it is a difficult decision to have made and life is not going to be easy post that decision being taken; but then ... If I'm in the mood for a snuggle or a kiss - it usually happens that he is not.
It is hard being the partner of an entrepreneur - it means swallowing what you want, it means doing things that you would want to do now at a later stage in life (mostly it wont happen as the time for it has passed) ... It means giving up a lot of things that don't want to ...
Yes, one of you is earning and there is money and it is all right to spend it once in a while - but most of the time it will not happen because of reasons that are obvious to you by now ....
It is not easy being the partner of an entrepreneur.
